The artist will clean the tattoo, apply Aquaphor, then they will wrap it with plastic wrap. You only have to wear this bandage for 30 minutes to an hour or until you get home. After getting home remove the bandage and clean the tattoo with antibacterial soap. Preferably unscented, and just your hand, no soft towels. After washing you may pat the tattoo dry and apply aftercare. Preferably unscented lotion or aquaphore. You only need to apply a light thin layer on the tattoo. Your tattoo will heal in phases. The first night it may bleed a little, so be sure to wear dark colored clothing when going to sleep, so you dont stain anything. The tattoo will get dry, flakey, and may even scab up. DO NOT PICK at your tattoo if it scabs up. You will be picking at the ink and will cause fall out. You will want to wash your tattoo before applying aftercare, treat it like an open wound. Tattoos usually take 2-3 weeks to heal. We want to be clean so showers are fine, but do not submerge your tattoo in any other form of water, until it is fully healed. Once the tattoo is fully healed whenever you are in direct sunlight be sure to use sunblock.
